ARTerra - Artist Residency, Portugal 2012

So here we are, . . . after spending a

night in Edinburgh airport and grabbing only a couple of hours sleep between the plane and the three hour bus journey I eventually made it to ARTerra!  I think I'm gonna have a great time here . . . great place, lovely people and lots of inspiration!!   

So time for a quick freshen up and off to explore . . .

Constructions at the Botanic Gardens

Well, summer is here again although the sunny spells have been brief.  This has posed a few problems for cement mixing but at last we managed to do a bit of casting in the Botanic Gardens in Dundee.

Two smaller sculpures are due to pop up soon too so keep an eye out for them . . .

Cupar Arts Festival 2011

8 - 18th October 2011, Cupar, Fife

Cupar played host to number of artists in a variety of locations over a ten day period.  For a link to the partcipating artists click here.

The above images show layered patterns which I have developed using details from the surrounding architecture, and underlying painting and decay from the wall on which this was painted.  The idea for the painting was to use these details to create a sense of harmony and order of the surrounding environment, a concept that has been used for centuries.  As a temporary artwork the piece will gradually fade and decay, and eventually will become the underlayers itself.
